Mara River Tented Camp

PLAN MY TRIP

An eco-friendly, off-the-grid camp located in the game-rich Lamai Triangle, Singita Mara River Tented Camp offers bohemian chic comfort and an authentic safari experience.

Accommodations at the camp consist of four one-bedroom tents and two family tents, all facing the river. Each tent is decorated in traditional Maasai colors and feature original Africa art by young designers and craftsmen with comfortable beds that can be made up as twins or a double. Attached bathrooms include a luxury outdoor bath perfect for soaking in after a dusty game drive, an outdoor star shower, an indoor shower, and a flush toilet. For added relaxation, guests can unwind on their private deck in the comfort of slip-covered chairs. The family tents comprise two tents joined by a short covered walkway with shared deck. Other amenities include standing fan, minibar (cooler box), tea/coffee station, safe, and bathroom amenities.

The Mara River Tented Campsite is situated on the Northern border of Tanzania within the Lamai Triangle and is famous for being the site where the Great Migration crosses the river into Kenya. Herds of millions of wildebeests amass along the Mara River on their way from the Serengeti savanna before heading into the plains of the Maasai Mara. All the while snapping crocodiles and grunting hippos lie in wait for the herds to traverse the shallow waters. Perfectly positioned, The Lamai Triangle remains game-rich year-round. Zebras, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and elephants can constantly be spotted in the rocky kopjes and riverine forest.

A variety of exciting activities are available from the camp. Daily morning and evening game drives are all conducted in state-of-the-art Land Rovers, each accommodating a maximum of six guests. They are led by expert rangers with a great chance of seeing a variety of big game animals including cheetah, bearded wildebeest, bat eared fox, black rhino, Maasai giraffe, lion, elephant, buffalo, and leopard. For families traveling with children, the camp hosts a variety of activities tailored to the younger crowd including arts and crafts, star gazing, face painting, mini-ranger course, and baking with a chef.

The camp boasts an extensive wine cellar showcasing a premium selection of wines, including some of the continent’s most sought-after private reserves, including exclusive release, limited single vineyard, and rare auction wines. Personalized wine tastings are a popular choice with guests. The camp spa reflects the beauty and tranquility of its natural setting with a wide menu of relaxing options available. The plunge pool in the main camp area is the ideal place to relax under a wide blue sky. An all-inclusive property, the rates include accommodations, all meals and beverages with some exclusions, private guide, camp host, chef, and staff. Laundry is complimentary with a twenty-four hour turn around.
