Kichakani Serengeti Camp

PLAN MY TRIP

Kichakani is an exclusive, luxury mobile camp with three exciting locations across the world-famous Serengeti.

Each of the camp’s ten 5-star tents presents a contemporary spin on the classic campaign tents of Africa’s colonial past. Every stylish canvas tent is outfitted with a comfy bed and modern amenities. The en suite bathroom includes an authentic bucket shower. Plus, each tent features a wooden deck with chairs for relaxing with a morning cup of java while watching the morning antics of the local wildlife. Moreover, every tent comes with a personal attendant who waits on guest’s need both day and night.

The mobile camp is located in Southern Serengeti from December to March, Central Serengeti from June to July, and Northern Serengeti from the end of July to mid-November. The mobile camp follows the herds and is the perfect place to witness not only the annual Great Migration but the calving season, which occurs January – March. During this time, some 400,000 calves are born while the herds reside in the Southern Serengeti region with their corresponding predators following in eager pursuit of a meal. The Serengeti is famed for being home to the Big Five: lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino, and leopard. There is plenty of bird life here too including woodpeckers and brightly colored kingfishers.

Daily game drives in the morning and afternoon are conducted in comfortable 4×4 safari vehicles and led by expert guides and trackers who know every inch of the park and where the herds of the great migration and the other species can be found. Bird watching is a popular pastime with over 500 recorded species found here. A sundowner allows guests to enjoy a refreshing drink or a signature cocktail and scrumptious pre-dinner snacks while watching an unforgettable sunset surrounded by the natural beauties and animals of the Serengeti.

The heart of the camp is the main tent. A regal sight, the central area features a high-canopied tent encompassing inviting lounges and dining wings. Not only are delicious meals dished up here, but the tent’s sides all open-up to revel a panoramic feast for the eyes. Guests can dine on an eclectic array of international cuisines flavored with local Tanzanian dishes and spices. At the end of the night, the best seat in the camp is around the traditional fire pit where stories are swapped and friendships are made under a blanket of bright stars.
