Kaskaz Mara Camp

PLAN MY TRIP

Just a short drive from the exciting Mara River viewing area, Kaskaz Mara Camp is a new luxury safari camp on the doorstep of the annual great migration.

Accommodations at the camp consist of ten tented suites. The suites feature large netted windows and draped roofing a Serengeti-style. Other amenities include air conditioning, oversized beds, expansive floor space, and hand carved decor with Swahili flair. The elegant en suite bathrooms come with double vanities, showers, and flush toilets. Each suite enjoys its own private veranda with comfortable outdoor furniture, perfect for relaxing and watching the wildlife and taking in the scenery. There’s even a hammock available on the veranda for an afternoon nap.

The camp is ideally located near the banks of the Mara River in the far northern Serengeti. Here the camp is poised to witness the dramatic spectacle of the great migration when millions of wildebeests and thousands of zebras and Thomson’s gazelles pour into the Serengeti in search of new pastures. Of course, their predators the lions, leopards, hyenas, and wild dogs are hard on their hooves. Overall, the Serengeti is home to literally millions of large herbivores, with more than 35 species of plains-dwelling mammals, as well as the accompanying carnivores and prolific birdlife.

Game drives are offered twice daily and conducted by knowledge guides and trackers through the central Serengeti. For an even more intimate look at the local flora and fauna, the camp has guided walking safaris. Led by an armed walking guide, these informative nature walks follow the animal tracks and the various uses of native plants during dawn and dusk before the real heat of the day. For an additional fee, a hot air balloon safari provides an aerial view of the Serengeti plains and are followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush. There are also cultural tours available to local villages and schools.

The camp runs on solar power and is positioned at different areas around the Serengeti at different parts of the year. Battery charging facilities and Wi-Fi are available. Meals are served in the mess tent. Otherwise boxed lunches are included on game drives and there is always the option for a bush breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
