Ewanjan Tented Camp

PLAN MY TRIP

Tucked deep into the central Serengeti’s spectacular Seronera Valley, Ewanjan Tented Camp is a luxurious seasonal tented camp that is sure to impress.

Accommodations at Ewanjan Tented Camp consist of twelve spacious canvas tents. These tents offer one king-size bed or two queen-size beds dressed in warm duvets as well as wooden cabinets and flooring, 24-hour solar lighting, and a games table. The en suite bathrooms feature flush toilets, large safari showers, and running water. Each double tent can comfortably accommodate two adults and two children. A private veranda is furnished with outside lounger making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a morning coffee or afternoon drink while taking in the beauties of the bush.

The camp is ideally located on the slopes of Makoma Hill in the Seronera Valley of the world-famous Serengeti. The grandeur of Serengeti’s endless plains encompasses nearly 10,000 square miles. Innumerable gazelle, zebra, and buffalo graze the grasslands along with notable numbers of elephant and giraffe. At the height of the seasonal migrations, over one million wildebeest are on the move, joined by hundreds of thousands of zebra and gazelle. Not far behind the migrating herds are the predators, most notably lion but also including leopard, cheetah, jackal, hyena, and aardwolf. Generally, around October to December the herds descend from the northern hills following the rains. Sometime from April to June they begin their return trek northward, crossing the crocodile-infested Mara River between July and September.

Year-round game viewing at Ewanjan is exceptional, and the camp closes only for April and May during the rainy season. Open 4×4 vehicles specially designed for long game drives are equipped with comfortable seats, charging units, and large refrigerator. The expert guides ensure everyone sees something memorable during the day. Hot-air balloon safaris glide high above the Serengeti for an aerial view of the savanna and wildlife below. For a unique dining experience, bush dinners provide excellent meals by a private butler in the middle of the wilderness while a Maasai warrior stands guard. Lemala Cubs Club for kids twelve and under lets children learn archery, tracking, bird and animal identification, and cooking with the chef in the kitchen.

Ewanjan’s main tent exudes elegant ambiance with its leather sofas, chandeliers, side cabinets, rugs, and chests. Separating the spacious living and dining areas is the central bar area. At night, everyone gathers around the fire pit for a sunset cocktail and a chance to share stories. Complimentary internet access and laundry service is available too.
