Namibia

Safarihoek Lodge

PLAN MY TRIP

Perched above the arid plains of Etosha Heights Private Reserve, Safarihoek Lodge offers stylish accommodations in the heart of Namibia’s renowned, rugged wilderness. This massive and ever expanding private reserve is the only way to have a real Etosha experience, without having to enter the pubic areas of the park. This is your own private Etosha.

Eleven elegant thatch-roofed chalets sit high above the savanna on its own wooden platform. Each air-conditioned chalet comes with either twin or double beds, a small writing desk, minibar, and coffee station. The en suite bathrooms feature indoor showers with eight of the chalets enjoying the added luxury of an outdoor shower. A private deck provides not only a comfy place to unwind but an unparalleled view of the wildlife below.

The lodge is located within the exclusive Etosha Heights Private Reserve. The reserve encompasses around 150,000 acres of unspoiled wildlife in one of the largest private reserves in Namibia and shares a forty-three-mile border with the world famous Etosha National Park. Elephants, kudu, springbok, and herds of antelopes roam the open savannas. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, and other predators stalk their prey from the shadows of the dolomite hills and mopane woodlands. Moreover, endangered white rhinos can be spotted drinking from one of the many waterholes.

Early morning and late afternoon game drives conducted by expert guides track the elusive black and white rhinos as well as offering a chance to spot elephants and the big cats from the comfort of a 4-wheel drive safari vehicle. At night, powerful spotlights are used to spy on the antics of Namibia’s nocturnal animals. Bush breakfasts and picnic lunches are available upon request for enjoying a delicious meal while feasting the eyes on the beauties and wonders of their private reserve. The lodge’s double-story photography hide is the best spot for taking that perfect photo.

The lodge’s central area houses a spacious lounge, wine cellar, dining room, and small curio shop for all those must have souvenirs. Most meals are served outside on the large deck with views of the plains below. A cozy outdoor seating area includes an inviting fireplace where guests can gather for a drink without losing sight of the wildlife passing by. While the lodge’s refreshing swimming pool also includes an outdoor bar as well as panoramic views of the savanna.
