Galton House

PLAN MY TRIP

Located in the affluent Windhoek suburb of Eros and named after the famous explorer Sir Francis Galton, Galton House offers the peace and tranquility of a small, boutique hotel.

This chic hotel offers eight rooms with a choice between four double rooms, two twin rooms, one triple room, and one family room featuring two twin beds, one single, and kid’s bed. The rooms are decorated in a clean, modern minimalist style with large animal photographs adorning the walls. Each room has its own en suite bathroom. All rooms are equipped with internet connectivity, satellite television, coffee station on request, air conditioning, in-room safe, and telephone.

Galton house is the newest hotel in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. It is a ten-minute drive from the suburb to the city center and is set in a basin between the Khomas Highland, Auas, and Eros Mountains. Once a German colony, vestiges of its colonial heritage can be seen in the proliferation of German buildings scattered throughout the city.

Frequently used as a jumping off place for Namibian safaris the city offers its own exciting sights such as Christuskirche, the old Lutheran church; the National Gallery of Namibia; the craft market in Post Street Mall; and the unique beer garden at Joe’s Beer House since the city is the brewing capital of the country. A small capital city by global standards, it is growing by leaps and bounds and known as a very clean city.

Galton House’s main area comprises a large lounge, indoor and outdoor dining areas, and a refreshing, swimming pool. As an added convenience for those guests with early arrivals or late departure, the hotel offers a day room including toilet, shower, changing and re-packing facility. An understated garden area is the ideal spot for relaxing after a busy day touring the city. There is also a delightful ‘al fresco’ dining area by the pool where freshly prepared and very tasty meals are served including lunch and dinner. There are several shops, restaurants, and supermarkets within easy striking distance of the hotel.
